[FAQ] Why is the memory usage high? How to release memory?

Reasily uses WebView(Google Chrome) to render EPUB content. Like a web browser, the more books you opened, the more memory it used. However, the memory will be released after books are closed.

There are several ways to close opened books and release memory:
  1. Remove opened books in the recent apps list of Android system. This is an unique feature of Reasily, each opened book acts like an app. Just remove a book from the recent apps list to close it.
  2. Long-press the back button to close the book you are reading.
  3. Use Close in the menu of book, which is the last item in the menu.

Reasily has been available on Amazon Appstore for months on Android devices. And now it is also available on Windows 11! So now we can synchronize highlights and notes between Android and Windows 11. To install Reasily on Windows 11: 1. Install Amazon Appstore on Microsoft Store . If it's not available on your device, check this  Troubleshooting and FAQ for mobile apps on Windows - Microsoft Support . For me, I just changed the windows system region to US and it works. 2. Open the Amazon Appstore, search and install Reasily.

[FAQ] How to add books without copying them into Reasily?

In the file chooser dialog, after files are selected, click the [+] button rather than [Import] button, all the files will be added to the list without copying. Reasily reads them from the storage directly. This is useful if you manage your epub files by yourself in your own storage folders. Note: If you [Import] books into Reasily, the files will be copied into private storage of Reasily app, and the size you see in the application info will grow. After books imported, you can remove them from your download folder.
