[FAQ] Why is my data not synced between devices?

Please check if the same account is logged in when enabling "Auto-sync data" or clicking "Sync now" on all your devices. You can "Log out" to change the account.
Make sure the internet connection is stable, then click "Sync now" to make it sync again. If the syncing message disappeared automatically, the data is synced successfully.
Please also check if the epub files are not different versions of a book on your devices. Data will not be synced between different versions of a book.
You can enable the "debug log" and "mail me" it so that I can check if there are some failures during synchronization.

    1. Sorry for late reply. Blogger does not notify me new comments... If the problem is still there, please try the "Sync now" function, now it shows error message after failed synchronization. Please tell me what it shows. Thank you!

  2. how does reasily check whether the books are different versions? i used moon+reader before, here sync worked as long as the file names are the same. i've create some ebooks from scanned books and have to fix some errors. so it can be that i have "different" versions of a book on two devices because after fixing some errors i forgot to copy the fixed version to the device. Is reasily checking the date of the last modification?

    1. Sorry for the late reply(Blogger does not notify me new comments)... Any change of the EPUB file makes it a different version. It might be bad on some circumstances...
However, it is also not good to consider EPUB files with the same name the same book, for there can be totally different books with the same file name. The same EPUB file repeatedly downloaded can be different file name, for example, good_novel.epub, good_novel(1).epub and good_novel(2).epub (but Reasily correctly recognizes them the same book because the content is the same). Another puzzle is that there can be huge changes between versions of the same book, and that will make bad synchronization result for highlights/bookmarks because of text position changes... That's why Reasily recognizes books by checking whether the file content is the same.

For your info: you can use the "Import data from another EPUB" to migrate notes from the old version to the new version, hope it helps.
